Indicators
Your computer provides an array of three indicators located above the keyboard, in addition to four indicators positioned at the front of the palm rest area. These indicators show the status of the computer and its componetns.

Windows Keys
The keyboard features two keys that perform Windows-specific functions.

Launch Keys
Located above the keyboard are three buttomUS| left-most button is the power button. To the right of the power button are the two launch keA JyHBare designated as the EmpoEUÜ Key and a programmable button.

Hot Keys
The computer employs hot keys or key combinations to access most of the computer's controls like screen brightness, volume output and the BIOS Utility.
To activate hot keys, press and hold the <Fn> key before pressffinie other key in the hot key combination.

Special Keys
You can locate the Euro symbol and US dollar sign at the upper-centerand/or bottom-right of your keyboard. To type:
- Open a text editor or word processor.
- Either directly press the Euro symbol at the bottom-right of the keyboard, or hold Alt Gr and then press the Euro symbol at the upper-center of the keyboard.
The US dollar sign
- Open a text editor or word processor.
- Either directly press the dollar sign at the bottom-right of the keyboard, or hold Shift and then press the dollar sign at the upper-center of the keyboard.
Using a computer security lock
A security keylock notch, located on the rear of the computer, lets you connect a Kensington-compatible computer security lock.
Wrap a computer security lock cable around an immovable object such as a table or handle of a locked drawer. Insert the lock into the notch and turn the key to secure the lock. Some keyless models are also available.
